myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are a group of clonal bone marrow (BM)
stem cell disorders, characterized by ineffective hematopoiesis,
peripheral cytopenias, and hematologic cellular dysfunction, as well as
potential transformation to acute leukemia.
